WHEREAS, on March J 3, 2017 the doors to the new Milton City Hall officially opened for business at
2006 Heritage Walk in the heart of the Crabapple District; and
WHEREAS, after years of planning, designing and the eventual construction of the beautiful 32,000
square foot building including a separate community meeting room, public bathrooms
and a public plaza which we now call home; and
WHEREAS, public areas of the building were designed with the Milton community in mind; enabling
our residents easy interaction with various city departments within the building; and
WHEREAS, we would like to recognize the tireless efforts and sacrifices made by the individuals who
participated in making this dream a reality; and
WHEREAS, thank you to Architects Brian Parker, Venuss Cervin, Sean McLendon from Cooper Cary
who took our vision and designed this building by integrating historic Milton elements
and creating an interior space that fosters collaboration between city departments and
residents; and
WHEREAS, thank you to Construction Managers John Cullum, and Huntly Gordon from New South
Construction for taking these designs and turnjng them into the attractive structure we
occupy today; and
WHEREAS, thank you to furniture designers from Office Images, Kate Wilson and David Stella, for
designing the building's innovative furnishings and thanks to John Mannino from
Haworth for providing our furniture; and
WHEREAS, thank you to the entire Milton city staff for their diligence and sacrifice of personal time
to ensure that no detail was overlooked with special thanks to Assistant City Manager
Carter Lucas, City Architect Bob Buscemi, Communjty Development Director Kathleen
Field and IT Manager David Frizzell; and
WHEREAS, finally, thank you to the city staff who kept the business of city hall moving forward
during the transition to our new space.
NOW, THEREFORE, we, the Mayor and City Council of the City of Milton, hereby recognize the hard
work, dedication and perseverance of all those individuals who made the Milton City Hall possible and a
place we are all proud to call home.
