Official Meetings are audio and video recorded. The Regular Meeting of the Mayor and Council of the City of Milton was held on February 4, 2019 at 6:00 PM, Mayor Joe Lockwood presiding. INVOCATION Sean Curry, Associate Student Director, Stonecreek Church, Milton, Georgia CALL TO ORDER Mayor Joe Lockwood called the meeting to order. ROLL CALL Councilmembers Present: Councilmember Jamison, Councilmember Kunz, Councilmember Bentley, Councilmember Cookerly, and Councilmember Longoria. Councilmember Absent: Councilmember Mohrig. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE (Led by Mayor Joe Lockwood) APPROVAL OF MEETING AGENDA (Add or remove items from the agenda) (Agenda Item No. 19-017) Motion and Vote: Councilmember Kunz moved to approve the Meeting Agenda with the following change: • Add an Executive Session to discuss Land Acquisition. Councilmember Longoria seconded the motion. The motion passed (6-0). Approval of a Construction Services Agreement between the City of Milton and CMES, Inc. for the Northeast Crabapple Connector Project. Approval of a Construction Services Agreement between the City of Milton and CMES, Inc. for the Birmingham Road Culvert Project. (Agenda Item No. 19-019) (Sara Leaders, Interim Public Works Director) Motion and Vote: Councilmember Bentley moved to approve the Consent Agenda Items. Councilmember Longoria seconded the motion. The motion passed (6-0). Councilmember Mohrig was absent from the meeting. REPORTS AND PRESENTATIONS (None) FIRST PRESENTATION (None) PUBLIC HEARING (None) ZONING AGENDA (None) Regular Meeting of the Milton City Council Monday, February 4, 2019 at 6:00 pm Page 3 of 4 UNFINISHED BUSINESS Consideration of an Ordinance of the Mayor and Council of the City of Milton, Georgia, to Adopt an Amendment to the Fiscal 2019 Budget for the Purchase of Two Fire Department Apparatus. ORDINANCE NO. 19-02-388 (Agenda Item No. 19-011) (First Presentation and Public Hearing at January 23, 2019 City Council Meeting) (Bernadette Harvill, Finance Director) Motion and Vote: Councilmember Longoria moved to approve Agenda Item No. 19-011. Councilmember Cookerly seconded the motion. The motion passed (6-0). Councilmember Mohrig was absent from the meeting. NEW BUSINESS (None) MAYOR AND COUNCIL REPORTS STAFF REPORTS Department Updates 1. Public Works 2. Parks and Recreation Sara Leaders, Interim Public Works Director The quarterly gravel road maintenance has been completed and we are working on cleaning out the ditches along the gravel roads. The paving program just completed the patching work and full paving should begin in a couple of months. The Heritage Walk crosswalks project should begin later this month. Jim Cregge, Parks and Recreation Director We have over 400 kids in the basketball program. Our lacrosse numbers have reached a plateau and we are considering ideas of how we can engage more kids in lacrosse. Baseball has topped at 600 kids. We are excited to partner with BUMC for use of their baseball field. The pool at the former Milton Country Club has a leak and we have scheduled a pool company to investigate. We were approved for the Natural Resources grant for $100,000 so that brings us to a total of $400,000 in grant funds for Providence Park. The motion passed (6-0). Councilmember Mohrig was absent from the meeting. RECONVENE Motion and Vote: Councilmember Longoria moved to reconvene the Regular Meeting at 7:20 p.m. Councilmember Kunz seconded the motion. The motion passed (6-0). Councilmember Mohrig was absent from the meeting. ADJOURNMENT (Agenda Item No. 19-020) Motion and Vote: Councilmember Kunz moved to adjourn the Regular Meeting at 7:22 p.m. Councilmember Jamison seconded the motion. The motion passed (6-0).
