MEETING MINUTES
CITY OF MILTON PARKS AND RECREATION
ADVISORY BOARD
Thursday, March 15, 2018
Council Chambers, Milton City Hall
CALL TO ORDER
Meeting was called to order by Mr. Stachowski at 7:04 PM.
ROLL CALL
Roll call was taken by Mr. Stachowski.

Ron Hill
OTHERS PRESENT
Jim Cregge, Parks and Recreation Director
Tom McKlveen, Parks and Recreation Program Manager
Quorum was announced by Mr. Stachowski.
APPROVAL OF MEETING AGENDA
A motion to approve the agenda was made by Mr. Shannon and seconded by
Mr. Hill. The vote passed unanimously.
APPROVAL OF PAST MINUTES
A motion was made by Mr. Shannon and seconded by Mr. Hill to approve the
February 2018 minutes. The vote passed unanimously.

PUBLIC COMMENT
o Milton Equestrian Committee Chair, Julie Shannon
The Equestrian committee recommended that Birmingham
Park be left as-is and not made into anything more than it
already is. They requested that it remain passive for the city to
enjoy.
COMMITTEE REPORTS
1. Hopewell Youth Baseball
o No report, all programming is going well
2. Eagle Stix
o Season is going well. Practices and games have begun
3. Milton Steelers
o Mr. Hill met with the Milton Steelers. He is looking to keep that strong
relationship with the program.
UNFINISHED BUSINESS
o Wall of Fame
o There will be a new process proposed by the sub-committee.
o That new subcommittee will be comprised of Mr. Stachowski, Mr.
Alberici and Mr. Townes.
o Inception of Park Memorials – Teresa McAree
o She is a North Fulton Hospital nurse
o She and her family were friends with a local resident who suddenly
passed
o Looking to add a memorial at Bell Memorial Park for this particular
resident
o City staff is reaching out to a local boys scout working on benches
for Providence Park. They will ask if he can do a bench at Bell
Memorial Park in place of one at Providence.
NEW BUSINESS
o None

CITY STAFF REPORTS AND COMMUNICATIONS
1. Jim Cregge
o Providence Park
o No money left in contract for additional work. Pricing is
being negotiated.
o Proposal will be back with the necessary hours to
complete plan by the end of March
o Another public meeting will be required to ensure the
public needs are met
o Master Plan
o Asking for more hours from the contractor
o Milton Country Club Master Plan
o All bids have been received
o Scheduling interviews for consultants
o Milton Country Club Pool
o There will be a swim team, along with public usage of the
pool for this summer
o Long term decisions will be decided as part of the master
plan process
o Discussion on field capacity issues
o At this time, lacrosse is not having more than 48 kids on the
field at once
o Mr. Alberici agrees that the field is not being overfilled with
lacrosse players. Age and team separation are key factors
to keeping the capacity numbers in the safe zones.
o A sub-committee will be formed to come up with policy
recommendations
o Meeting with Tim Lester with Milton Steelers will be on
3/14/18 to discuss capacities. PRAB has approved the idea
of putting up temporary fencing.

Motion made to adjourn by Mr. Hill . The motion was seconded by Mr. Shannon.
The motion was approved by a unanimous vote. The meeting was ended by
Mr. Stachowski at 8:00 PM.
