CALL TO ORDER
Meeting was called to order by Mr. Stachowski at 7:00 PM.

APPROVAL OF MEETING AGENDA
A motion to approve the agenda with changes to move new business to the
beginning was made by Mr. Costanzo and seconded by Mr. Shannon. The vote
passed unanimously.
APPROVAL OF PAST MINUTES
A motion was made by Mr. Shannon and seconded by Mr. Cranmer to approve
the December 2017 minutes. The vote passed unanimously.

o No public comment
ELECTION OF OFFICERS
o Chairman: Mr. Cranmer nominated Mr. Stachowski. It was
seconded by Mr. Shannon. Passed unanimously.
o Vice Chairmain: Mr. Costanzo nominated Mr. Shannon. It was
seconded by Mr. Cranmer. Passed unanimously.
o Secretary: Mr. Shannon nominated Mr. Costanzo. It was seconded
by Mr. Alberici. Passed unanimously.
o Milton Steelers Appointee: Mr. Cranmer nominated Mr. Hill. Passed
unanimously
o Hopewell Baseball Appointee: Mr. Cranmer nominated Mr.
Shannon. It was seconded by Mr. Alberici. Passed unanimously.
o Eagle Stix Appointee: Mr. Cranmer nominated Mr. Costanzo and Mr.
Alberici. Mr. Costanzo's nomination was seconded by Mr. Alberici.
Mr. Alberici's nomination was seconded by Mr. Shannon. Both
passed unanimously.
COMMITTEE REPORTS
1. Hopewell Youth Baseball
o Advanced level teams (travel) is starting up.
2. Eagle Stix
o No report
3. Milton Steelers
o The program won volunteer of the year on the state and local level
within Georgia Recreation and Parks Association.
o A Milton Steeler 12U team won their local league and made it all
the way to regionals.
UNFINISHED BUSINESS
o Wall of Fame
o The work to finish up the process has started. There was a meeting
between 3 PRAB members and staff.
o A motion was made by Mr. Stachowski to make create a final
document and take it to staff for review. It was seconded by Mr.
Cranmer. The vote passed unanimously.

NEW BUSINESS
Providence Park Presentation
o This plan showed the master plan details following the meeting to
the public.
o Charles Lancelot spoke to the features of the park. As a neighbor of
the park, he was excited to see the elements of the park including
the water activities, camping and the wider 10-foot paved trails.
o A motion was made by Mr. Shannon to move forward with the
proposal. It was seconded by Mr. Alberici. The vote passed
unanimously.
CITY STAFF REPORTS AND COMMUNICATIONS
1. Tom McKlveen
o Survey results from fall season have been calculated. Results were
favorable for all programs.
2. Jim Cregge
o Master plan survey results have been delivered. Over 90% of
respondents were either pleased or very pleased with the quality of
programs and facilities in the City of Milton.

ADJOURNMENT
Motion made to adjourn by Mr. Shannon. The motion was seconded by Mr.
Cranmer. The motion was approved by a unanimous vote. The meeting was
ended by Mr. Stachowski at 9:04 PM.

A motion to approve the agenda with changes was made by Mr. Shannon and
seconded by Mr. Cranmer. The vote passed unanimously.
APPROVAL OF PAST MINUTES
A motion was made by Mr. Shannon and seconded by Mr. Hill to approve the
November 2017 minutes. The vote passed unanimously.

o Councilman Kunz took a moment to speak about Mr. Kottis's
passing. Mr. Kottis did what he did to give back to the community.
He was a special person. He wanted to help build a foundation for
the City of Milton.
COMMITTEE REPORTS
1. Hopewell Youth Baseball
o No report
2. Eagle Stix
o Concussion protocol at games has been fabulous
o A very high percentage of girls that play in Eagle Stix get college
scholarships. This percentage is well above the average of other
programs. Working with the communication department with the
City of Milton to get the word out.
3. Milton Steelers
0 98% approval rating from the fall season
o # 1 feedback was communication improvements needed
o On January 8th, the city will do a proclamation for the 12U team
that won their league championship
UNFINISHED BUSINESS
Fulton County IGA Park on Wood Rd./Freemanville Rd.
o Parks and Recreation Advisory Board Members walked the trails
last month
o The parcel already has existing trails
o Questions that were raised: possible parking, cost to the city, and
what will it cost to upkeep the property?
o This would be a great opportunity to work with the equestrian
community and they wish to get the Milton Equestrian Community
involved.
o A meeting would need to be held with the Wood Road residents to
discuss the park
o A motion was made by Mr. Shannon to recommend to Council
and Staff to move forward with this project. The motion also
included recommendations for vehicle parking, trash cans, a
portable bathroom and signage. The motion was seconded by
Mrs. Rekuc. The vote passed unanimously.

City of Milton
Wall of Fame
PURPOSE
To recognize and honor the achievement and success of deserving participants, coaches, and contributors
from a parks and recreation program in the City of Milton, by placing their names onto a Wall of Fame at
Bell Memorial Park.
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
The following requirements will guide the nomination process for individuals:
1. Must be a resident of the City of Milton which started in December 2006.
1. 1. May have participated in parks or recreation programs prior to December 2006 if it was at
Bell Memorial Park, or Alpharetta North Park.
2. Must have participated in a City of Milton Parks and Recreation program or been an active
supporter of the program.
3. Must have achieved individual level of success beyond High School or College in their respective
program.
4. Mustt at all times be a good citizen and demonstrate good character, integrity and be a good
representative of their program and the City of Milton.
5. Must not have any felony conviction at time of nomination and any felony conviction after selection
(if selected) will result in removing their name from the Wall of Fame.
6. These criteria are subject to final review and approval of the City of Milton Parks and Recreation
Director.
NOMINATIONS
The City of Milton Parks and Recreation Department will issue an annual call for nominations (via email,
newspaper, and social media) All names will be reviewed and vetted by staff and then referred to the
Nomination Sub -Committee of the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board. Once an individual is nominated
and meets selection requirements, he or she shall remain on the ballot for 3 years. Final selection will
occur by a Voting Committee. The Voting Committee shall be comprised of... <TBD>
SELECTION PROCESS
All nominations must be received by October for the following year. The Nomination Sub -Committee will
prepare a ballot by March which will then go to a vote by..<TBD>... for final selection to occur by April. A
recognition and award ceremony then will take place by October at the Wall of Fame.
The voting process by the "Voting Committee" will be as follows:
1. The Election will use a point system format. Each voting member will force rank his candidates
with the highest ranked candidate getting the most points and then decreasing for the remaining
nominees. I.e. if 6 nominees then they will be ranked form 6 to 1.
2. The top vote getting nominee(s) will be selected to fill the determined number of spots for that year.
3. Any PRAB member whose name may appear in the nominees shall recuse themself from the
voting process where appropriate.
