MEETING MINUTES
CITY OF MILTON PARKS AND RECREATION
ADVISORY BOARD
Thursday, August 17, 2017
Community Place, Milton City Hall
CALL TO ORDER
Meeting was called to order by Mr. Shannon at 11:30 AM.
ROLL CALL
Roll call was taken by Mr. Shannon.
MEMBERS PRESENT
Dave Shannon
Joey Costanzo
Phil Cranmer
Sue Rekuc
Ron Hill
OTHERS PRESENT
Jim Cregge, Parks and Recreation Director
Tom McKlveen, Parks and Recreation Program Manager
Quorum was announced by Mr. Shannon.
APPROVAL OF MEETING AGENDA
A motion to approve the agenda was made by Mr. Cranmer and seconded by
Mr. Hill. The vote passed unanimously.
APPROVAL OF PAST MINUTES
A motion was made by Mr. Hill and seconded by Mr. Cranmer to approve the
May 2017 minutes. The vote passed unanimously.

COMMITTEE REPORTS
1. Hopewell Youth Baseball – Games will begin September 9th. Everything is
going well. The program is trending up.
2. Eagle Stix- no report
3. Milton Steelers- Fall 2017. There are 130 tackle players, up dramatically
from previous fall season.
PUBLIC COMMENT
1. None
UNFINISHED BUSINESS
1. Parks & Recreation Advisory Board Meeting Dates
a. A motion to alternate afternoon and evening meetings was made
by Mr. Cranmer. It was seconded by Mr. Hill . The motion was
approved by unanimous vote.
b. The next meeting time will be determined based on facility
availability.
2. Wall of Fame
a. A motion to have city staff recommend the Wall of Fame
requirements at the next meeting to vote on was made by Mr.
Cranmer. It was seconded by Mr. Hill. The motion was approved by
a unanimous vote.
3. PRAB Stipend
a. Mr. Cregge urged the members of the Parks and Recreation
Advisory Board to fill out the paperwork required.
NEW BUSINESS
1. Veterans Project
a. Mr. Hill is working on a service project with Counsel Member Bill Lusk
to help homeless veterans.
2. Parks will have special parking spots available for wounded combat
veterans. Six will be made to go around City of Milton parks.

CITY STAFF REPORTS AND COMMUNICATIONS
1. New Park – Jim Cregge
a. A shared park with Alpharetta is in the early stages of planning
b. The park will be 12 acres
2. Program Report – Tom McKlveen
a. Camp Joyful Soles
i. 6 of 7 weeks sold out
ii. Most successful camp to date
iii. Milton Steelers helped by doing a field trip at Bell Memorial
Park
b. Program Partners
i. Working on a potential new program partner for soccer
ii. In the early stages of starting an equestrian program for the
Parks and Recreation department

Motion made to adjourn by Mrs. Rekuc. The motion was seconded by Mr.
Cranmer. The motion was approved by a unanimous vote. The meeting was
ended by Mr. Shannon at 12:13 PM.
