ROLL CALL Roll call was taken by Mr. Stachowski. MEMBERS PRESENT Scotty Stachowski Joey Costanzo Sue Rekuc Phil Cranmer Ron Hill OTHERS PRESENT Jim Cregge, Parks and Recreation Director Tom McKlveen, Parks and Recreation Program Manager Matt Kunz, Milton City Council Quorum was announced by Mr. Stachowski. APPROVAL OF MEETING AGENDA A motion to approve the agenda with changes was made by Mr. Shannon and seconded by Mr. Cranmer. The vote passed unanimously. APPROVAL OF PAST MINUTES A motion was made by Mr. Shannon and seconded by Mr. Hill to approve the November 2017 minutes. Mr. Kottis did what he did to give back to the community. He was a special person. He wanted to help build a foundation for the City of Milton. COMMITTEE REPORTS 1. Hopewell Youth Baseball o No report 2. Eagle Stix o Concussion protocol at games has been fabulous o A very high percentage of girls that play in Eagle Stix get college scholarships. This percentage is well above the average of other programs. Working with the communication department with the City of Milton to get the word out. 3. Milton Steelers o 98% approval rating from the fall season o # 1 feedback was communication improvements needed o On January 8th, the city will do a proclamation for the 12U team that won their league championship UNFINISHED BUSINESS 1. Fulton County IGA Park on Wood Rd./Freemanville Rd. o Parks and Recreation Advisory Board Members walked the trails last month o The parcel already has existing trails o Questions that were raised: possible parking, cost to the city, and what will it cost to upkeep the property? o This would be a great opportunity to work with the equestrian community and they wish to get the Milton Equestrian Community involved. o A meeting would need to be held with the Wood Road residents to discuss the park o A motion was made by Mr. Shannon to recommend to Council and Staff to move forward with this project. The motion also included recommendations for vehicle parking, trash cans, a portable bathroom and signage. The motion was seconded by Mrs. Rekuc. He received the Distinguished Professional Administrator award. COMMITTEE REPORTS 1. Hopewell Youth Baseball o Season was successful. Registration is open for the spring season 2. Eagle Stix o Meeting is being scheduled regarding field space. 3. Milton Steelers o No report. One Milton Steeler team has the opportunity to play in Canton, Ohio. UNFINISHED BUSINESS Presentation of Providence Park Preliminary Results. Raigan Carr & Steve Provost presented the preliminary results and concept plans. They have taken elements from the plans to come up with a hybrid plan for the park that will be presented to the public on December 12t". The plans will include zip lining and camping at the park. 2. Items B, C & D were deferred to the next meeting. NEW BUSINESS Discussion on new IGA with FCBoE o There is a parcel of land owned by Fulton County Board of Education that the City of Milton can go into an IGA with for passive trails. A motion the continue research viability of trails on the property was made by Mrs. Rekuc. It was seconded by Mr. Kottis. December Meeting o A motion was made by Mrs. Rekuc to have the meeting in December moved to the second Thursday and take place at 11:30am at Council Chambers. It was seconded by Mr. Kottis. The vote passed unanimously. CITY STAFF REPORTS AND COMMUNICATIONS 1. CDBG - Jim Cregge o The first invoice was submitted to Fulton County o Hippotherapy will be offered by one equestrian provider within the City of Milton. 2. Programming -Tom McKlveen o Basketball registration is closed. Participation has risen from 186 in 2016-2017 to over 300 participants this season. OTHER ADJOURNMENT Motion made to adjourn by Mr. Kottis. The motion was seconded by Mrs. Rekuc. The motion was approved by a unanimous vote.
