MILTON ARTS COUNCIL, INC.
Tuesday, June 12, 2018 - 11:30 AM
Bullpen Conference Room - City Hall
Present: Emily Griffith, Megan Jamison, Sarah LaDart, Blake Masters, Barbara Peck,
Bill Purdie, Bob Stewart, Kevin Swan, Ed Tate.
Absent: Lauri Goodling
Election of Non-Voting Board Member
A motion was made to nominate Sarah LaDart, Economic Development Manager for
the City of Milton, as the non-voting member of the Board. The motion was
seconded and unanimously approved.
MAC New Documents Review
Ed Tate reviewed and discussed the following with the Board:
• Board Resolutions
• Bylaws
• Code of Ethics
• Conflict of Interest Policy
• Member Consent
• Directors’ Liability Insurance
The original Board of Directors’ signed Code of Ethics documents and the Initial
Terms of Service document are on file with Barbara Peck.
Blake Masters discussed in detail the Board’s financial policies and practices.
• An account for the MAC has been set up with Wells Fargo. All anticipated
expenses must be discussed and approved by Bill before any purchases are
made.
• The MAC Financial Statement as of May 31 was reviewed. Audited financial
statements will be required as the MAC expands.
Sarah LaDart discussed the Open Meetings Act. She also explained that Basecamp
through the City would no longer be available once the Council approves the
dissolution of MCAC. It will be available to the Board through July 9.

Milton Beach Bash
Bob Stewart reported that five performers would be participating in the Beach Bash.
The show will last approximately 45 minutes.
MAC and Sound Lab will have tables at the event. Bill distributed tee shirts,
nametags and business cards to the Directors.
Milton Literary Festival
Barbara Peck has been meeting on a regular basis with Keryl Oliver, the main
contact for the Festival. The Festival committee has been concentrating solely on
author participation and will expand into other areas over the summer months.
Megan will work with Keryl on including Festival information on the MAC web site.
Lauri will work with Brenda Sevcik, Festival Community Outreach Leader, on
judging for a student participation activity.
MAC Web Site/Social Media/Community Outreach
Megan Jamison discussed the current web site/social media status. Emily Griffith
gave an update working on the church outreach activities. Additionally, Emily
volunteered to cover the realtors in the community.
Future Meeting Dates
The next meeting dates will be on July 10 and August 14 at 11:30 AM in the Bullpen
Conference Room.
