PLANNING COMMISSION ACTION MINUTES
Tuesday, October 27, 2009, 7:00 pm
I. Invocation -Suspended
2. Pledge of Allegiance - Suspended
3. Call to Order
The meeting was called to order at 7:12 p.m.

Fred Edwards

Joe Creamer
George Ragsdale
4. Public Comment
A motion was made by Fred Edwards and seconded by Cary Schlenke to
suspend the Public Comment. The motion passed unanimously 4-0
5. Approval of Action Minutes - September 22, 2009 Meeting
A motion was made by Cary Schlenke and seconded by Fred Edwards to DEFER
the September 22, 2009 Action Minutes to include the vote of the deletion of the
Prior Use Recognition. The motion passed unanimously 4-0.
b. Approval of Action Minutes - September 29, 2009 Special Called Meeting
A motion was made by Cary Schlenke and seconded by Curtis Mills to APPROVE
the September 29, 2009 Action Minutes. Fred Edwards recused himself based on
the fact that he was not in attendance. There was not a quorum and the item
automatically was deferred to the next meeting, November 18, 2009.
7. RZ09-04 - Text Amendment to the Zoning Ordinance - To add Article 13, Historic
Preservation - This item was deferred by the Planning Commission on August 25,
2009, Deferred by the Mayor and City Council at the September 21, 2009 and
October 19, 2009 to allow the Planning Commission to continue the review. It is
scheduled to go back to the Mayor and City Council on December 21, 2009.

City Attorney Ken Jarrard Was present to answer any questions and to review the
proposed changes to the ordinance. The Planning Commission discussed the
changes with Mr. Jarrard and received input from Travis Alien from the Historic
Preservation Committee.
8. Adjourn
A motion was made by Fred Edwards and seconded by Cary Schlenke to adjourn the
meeting. The motion passed unanimously 4-0. Time of adjournment was 8:55 p.m.
