Milton Grows Green Committee
A"'AM
Minutes March 27, 2008 [APPROVED]
Date: March 27, 2008, 12:00 noon.
Place: City of Milton, Executive Conference Room
Attendees: Julie 7.ahner Bailey, Jon McPhail, Francia Lindon, Jack Lindon, Dan Drake, Dan
Conniff, Marc Arrington and Lynna Lee.
Agenda: The Agenda for this meeting is attached.
Action Item: Paul Hackman has suggested that our committee submit an "Executive Summary" of
who we are and what we're focusing on to CPAC by April 3 so that some of our initiatives can be
included in the Comprehensive Land Use Plan. Julie suggested reviewing the minutes from past
meeting and including descriptions of the standing subcommittees that have been identified. Julie
asked Francia to do the first draft and circulate it among the committee members for comments and
suggestions. The final document would be sent along with a cover letter requesting that John Ford,
consultant to BRPH, integrate it into the CLUP.
Mission Statement: More suggestions on a mission statement had been exchanged via e-mail
during the week. The discussion continued primarily on these new possibilities. The statement that
was finally adopted reads: "Milton Grows Green Committee's mission is: advocating responsibly
managed growth by conserving and protecting resources, while preserving Milton's heritage and
natural landscape for future generations."
Logo Discussion: A suggestion to change the color of the script in the logo from pale green to
white was made. It was felt this would make it more visible. A copy of the logo needed to be sent to
Chris Lagerbloom and Lisa Maggart.
April 26 Materials for MGG: Francia passed out a first draft of a tri-fold pamphlet that is to act as
an introduction of our committee and also give some consumer eco-friendly web site information.
The initial purpose of the piece was thought to be that of simply directing consumers to "green"
ideas but its purpose was expanded to include a description of the committee/subcommittees and
their focus.
Next Meeting: Wednesday, April 2, 2008 6:00 pm.
