Council can ask questions and it will be voted on 7/ 2. This puts all the sustainable city measures into one document and follows the Green Communities certification. PowerPoint is available if anyone wants to see it from Cindy. • Adopt a Road — Julie and Cindy met after meeting to review planning. Very little work necessary to keep it going at this point. Cindy to provide master list to Julie, letter to update volunteers to go out within a week. • ARC's Green City Certification — Application was sent in May 25th to apply for bronze status. Took a lot of effort on Michele McIntosh Ross's and Cindy to coordinate. Thanks to Bruce Langston for helping and getting us going on the city being an Energy Star Partner. We have until the end of Oct. to complete some projects, and awards will be given in December. IV. New Business: National Wildlife Certification Project (Will Check) — Will is an intern for Community Development this summer, a rising senior at Blessed Trinity HS. Cindy asked him if he would lead the project to get the committee organized to register the project, and put a plan in motion to get certified as a NWF Community Wildlife Habitat. Will is going to be working with Malcolm Barnard in Johns Creek, a student who spent 2 years getting JC certified. He will be meeting with Chris Lagerbloom to get a letter of commitment signed by Chris on 6-15. The first committee meeting will be July 11, 7 PM (following our MCC meeting at 6 PM). Jack Lindon and Bruce Langston expressed interest in being on the NWF committee. A kick off meeting will be held on July 16 at 5:30 prior to the City council meeting. Jack expressed interest in having Kathy Johnson involved to get the schools certified, Bill Lusk will be asked to be the council liaison and on the committee, we will have a public announcement to ask for committee volunteers from the community and will create a webpage for the city website. Will is researching Better Together Grant opportunity for start up funding. • Rivers Alive (Cindy) — Julie ZB would like to continue having Rivers Alive and is coordinating schedules with High school and fall commitments to get a fall date. Bruce has volunteered to help with clean up locations, Jack suggested maybe focusing on 10 clean up sites. • Solid Waste (Cindy) — Here is a compilation of concerns and suggestions made by MCC over the years that we will focus on addressing this summer. Julie P. and Jack have offered to help with this effort. Cindy will be attending a solid waste meeting at ARC, Tuesday June 191h if anyone wants to accompany her.
