We also lack a functional work space for conducting the maintenance of various tools we need to do the job. There is a department need for adequate space to manage a department-wide storage and maintenance program, and it’s important that this space is centrally located to our zones. STATION 43 ENGINE ROOM PROPOSED LOCATION Station 43 (Birmingham area) provides the best location for this facility. It will sit in the trees approximately 280 feet from New Bullpen Road. •The lot the station sits on affords the most space available and doesn’t require building outside of the fire station property, •Will be largely shielded by trees and other features of the existing building, and •Is easily accessible from the logistics office in the administrative portion of the building.
