Objectives: • Identify acquisition opportunities in all eight character areas of the City (references categories in the City’s Comprehensive Plan). • Tailor protection strategies to the appropriate area of the City. Goal 2: Whenever possible, create connections between land interests for increased greenspace and environmental benefits. Objectives: • Identify for acquisition land interests that are adjacent to existing publicly- owned or otherwise protected land interests. • Identify for acquisition land interests that have the potential to complete a network or corridor or in the future may create adjacencies, if other acquisitions are successfully completed. Goal 3: Maximize the benefits to the City of Milton by creating an evaluation process that reflects priorities from other City of Milton-adopted plans and established the potential for other funding sources to be leveraged. Objectives: • Create an evaluation process that prioritizes properties and land interests meeting more than one criteria. • Ensure priorities and goals from other City of Milton-adopted plans are incorporated into the evaluation process. • Consider other funding sources when crafting the final acquisition strategy.
