Better Together Committee – Certificates of Appreciation
Certificates of Appreciation were given to Better Together Committee members in recognition of
their valuable contributions in 2012.
Facebook/Postcard –
Better Together Facebook – Now have “92” Likes; Goal 100
Postcard Handout – Available by Earth Day Event on April 20
It was agreed that the reference to a gun safety class being offered in the future would be
removed from the postcard. The postcard will be sent to the printer on April 9.
Events and Activities –
Coffee with the Mayor – March 26
It was reported that this was a very good meeting though the attendance was somewhat
disappointing.
Earth Day – April 20 – Better Together Tent
It was reported that the banner, printed postcards and other display information would be
available for the Better Together tent.
The Milton Love Project – April 21
Karen reported that all of the materials would be ready for the attendees to paint and
complete the wooden hearts.
K-9 Support Golf Tournament – May 1 at Echelon Noted
Living Room Conversations –

Due to scheduling difficulties, Commissioner Hausmann will not be speaking at this time.
Possible speakers to be contacted include Senator John Albers and Representative Jan
Jones.
Gun Safety Class – Plans in Process
There was considerable discussion as to whether or not the Committee should offer
programs relating to gun safety.
Finance for your Teenager – Discuss Date Alternatives
Candy Moore of Wells Fargo will be teaching this class. Possible meeting dates, places
and times were discussed. Peyton Jamison is coordinating and will determine
arrangements.
Possible Projects/Activities –
Welcoming New Residents – Ways to Accomplish
There was discussion related to developing a welcoming package to be given to new
residents moving into Milton. Among other things, this package would contain a
welcoming letter from the City, Newcomer’s Guide and other materials. The Committee
discussed the possibility of inviting businesses to participate by including coupons and
advertising materials in the welcoming package. The Committee will continue to discuss
this project.
Connecting Businesses and Citizens
Possibilities discussed included offering businesses the opportunity to host meetings
featuring their products or services. For example, Loving Hands on “Proper Care for
your Pet.” The Committee will continue to discuss this project.
Senior Citizens – Discussed ways in which our Committee might offer opportunities to
seniors. Sharon, Maureen and Teri to consider possibilities. A basic class on computers
or texting was mentioned. Ansley offered that she would be willing to help teach such a
class.
Open Discussion The Committee offered its congratulations to Ansley on being named to First
Chair – Flute for Milton High School.
Ansley reported that the new name being considered for the Linked 4 Life organization is
Communiteen.
