Events and Activities (Past) –
North Fulton Community Charities –
o Notebook Paper Drive
It was reported that approximately six (6) boxes of notebook
paper and various supplies were collected and donated to
NFCC for their annual Back-to-School Event.
o August 10 Volunteer Event
Wayne reported that Barbara Peck, Sharon Lockwood, Teri
Harrison and Curran Harrison volunteered at the Back-to-
School Event on August 10 at NFCC. Some 1,500 book bags
and supplies were given to students.
Snow Tubing in the Park
Wayne reported that Better Together assisted at the snow tubing
event by distributing materials at the City’s information tent. Sharon
Lockwood worked this event as well as the Back-to-School Event
earlier in the day. Some 1,200 residents participated in the activities.
Events and Activities (Future) –

Communiteen Event – Saturday, August 24 at Bethwell
Nancilee reported that she, Ansley and Meredith had met and that
things were falling into place for the event. Snacks and drinks are
needed for the event and several Better Together folks volunteered to
bring these items.
Milton High School Football Game – August 30 – Volunteers
Originally it was reported that a couple of Better Together volunteers
would be needed for this event in order to distribute City materials;
however, this need has now been met. It was reported that
volunteers would now be needed for the football game at Cambridge
High School on September 24.
Update on New Milton Library – Scheduled Date is Thursday,
September 26 at 7:00 pm at Bethwell – Councilman Matt Kunz
This Living Room Conversation is confirmed. A news release will be
distributed to the community publicizing the event and requesting
that book donations be brought to the event by attendees.
Representative Jan Jones to speak – Scheduled Date is Thursday,
October 24 at 7:00 pm at City Hall
It was reported that arrangements had been finalized through the
office of Representative Jan Jones for this event. A news release will
be distributed to the community inviting all citizens to attend.
Fulton County Commissioner Liz Hausmann – TBD
It is expected that this Living Room Conversation will take place
during the December timeframe and will be held at the Bethwell
Community Center.
Possible Projects/Activities –
Milton Senior Center – Ribbon Cutting – August 22
It was reported that the Grand Opening of the new Milton Senior
Center was held Thursday, August 22. Mayor Lockwood, members
of the Milton City Council and other officials attended the event.
Milton Grows Green –
o Adopt-a-Road Program – September 21
Better Together’s application for the Adopt-a-Road has been
accepted by the Milton Grows Green Committee. Our section
of road is Thompson Road beginning at Redd Road and
extending to Country Ridge Road. Barbara Peck will be

coordinating Better Together’s first clean-up which is
scheduled for Saturday, September 21.
o Rivers Alive Program
Plans are for Better Together to participate in this annual event
which is coordinated by the Milton Grows Green Committee.
o North Fulton Community Charities – Coat Drive
At a future meeting, Teri Harrison will provide our group with
more information on this annual event.
