would be scheduled for the March 2014 timeframe.

It was reported that we are working with Liz Hausmann’s office in
order to schedule a Living Room Conversation in the January
timeframe. The plans are to hold this event at the Bethwell
Community Center.
Possible Projects/Activities –
Community of Christ Church – November 3 – Pet Blessing
It was reported that Better Together will be working with Tass Welch
in order to identify ways in which our group might be able to
3
support and participate with the Community of Christ Church in this
activity.
Little Free Library Opportunity
Nancilee reported that she had been researching this organization
which provides an opportunity for residents to “take a book, return a
book” free of charge. They are some 10,000 of these “libraries”
located throughout communities in the United States. It was the
consensus of the Better Together group that we should give strong
consideration to sponsoring a couple of these libraries in Milton.
Peyton said that he would research the possibility of locating a
library in the Crabapple area. A recommendation was made that
perhaps a desirable location for an additional library would be in the
new Deerfield Park. Wayne stated that he would follow up with the
City on this possibility.
Communiteen Events in the Future
Nancilee reported that Ansley and Meredith are identifying possible
dates for future Communiteen events so that they can be included on
the Bethwell Community Center schedule.
Christmas Gathering for Better Together – December 2
Nancilee reported that she and Maddy would like to coordinate a
Christmas gathering for the group. Plans are to hold the event at
Wayne’s home at our regular Better Together meeting day in
December.
Tass Welch – Associate Pastor, Community of Christ Church
Tass, one of the original Better Together members, summarized a number
of activities in which she and her church are involved. These include the
new Milton Senior Center which meets at Community of Christ Church
where Tass serves and the Milton Disability Awareness Community which
Tass chairs. Tass also discussed the Pet Blessing Day scheduled for
November 3 that is being sponsored by her church. She stated that the
church would be needing assistance in preparing the “goody bags” that are
to be given to those attending the Pet Blessing. Better Together agreed that
we would identify ways in which we could help.
Next Meeting – Bethwell Community Center – October 21, 2013
