Events and Activities (Past) –
Better Together - Adopt-a-Road Signs Placed on Thompson
It was reported that the new signs had been placed on Thompson Road
indicating that “Better Together” had adopted the road. A picture of the
sign has been added to Better Together’s Facebook site.
Power of Peace Project Meeting – May 18
It was reported that Kit Cummings, a well-known inspirational speaker
from the area, would be leading a six-week Power of Peace Project in the
North Fulton beginning in mid-June. Plans are to invite teenagers from
high schools in the area to participate in the Project. Additional
information will be provided when the schedule is finalized.
Shirts and Name Tags – Need Info from Members
Wayne reminded all that plans are to purchase polo shirts for the Better
Together group. Those who have not provided size information were
encouraged to do so as soon as they could.
Events and Activities (Future) –
Memorial Day Ceremony – May 26 - Freedom Park – Parking

All were reminded to attend Milton’s Annual Memorial Day Ceremony
which will begin at 10 am on Monday, May 26. Last year some 400
citizens attended the ceremony.
Better Together Meeting on July 14 – Nancilee’s Home
The July Better Together meeting will meet at the home of Nancilee. All
are invited to attend, including spouses.
Connecting Residents with Businesses –
Robeks Juice – Event Scheduled for June 20 – 4 to 7 PM
Plans are well underway for Better Together’s second “connecting
residents with businesses’ activity. Robeks is located in the same
shopping center as Nothing Bundt Cakes. Robeks serves very healthy
smoothies.
Back on the Road – May 19 Meeting
It was reported that a preliminary discussion was held with Back to the
Road on a possible event.
Welcoming New Residents – 49 Packages Mailed (April Sales)
This was Better Together’s fourth mailing of packages to residents who
purchased homes in Milton during the previous month.
Open Discussion
Nancilee reminded the group that on July 4, the annual July 4 Parade
would take place in downtown Crapapple. The parade, sponsored
annually by the Crabapple Community Association, will begin at 10:00 am
in downtown Crabapple.
Freeda informed the group that Crabapple Baptist Church would be
sponsoring a “movie on the lawn” on Friday, July 18. The public is
welcome to attend and is encouraged to bring blankets, chairs and snacks.
The “Lego Movie” will be shown.
Visiting Angels – Lisa Machado – Franchise Owner-Director
Lisa gave a very interesting presentation on “Visiting Angels” and the
service that this organization provides to the North Fulton and Cherokee
county areas. Highlights included:
Lisa and her husband, Mario, opened their franchise in 2005.

Previously, Lisa had some 20 years of major corporation experience.
They have a staff of some 193 employees.
Dementia care, Alzheimer’s care, elder care, personal care, respite
care and companion care to seniors and adults are examples of the
types of services provided.
The charge for service is $18.00 per hour.
