The Better Together meeting was held at the home of Nancilee and Ken
Wolfe. Better Together members brought potluck dinner items and the
Wolfe’s treated all to an excellent chicken barbeque dinner. We spent a
great evening of fellowship and eating. And, we concluded with a brief
Better Together meeting. A special THANKS to the Wolfe’s for a great
evening!
Better Together Shirts
It was reported that the new Better Together polo-type shirts are still
available for purchase at a price of $25. Also, tee-shirt type Better Together
shirts are free to members.
Better Together Facebook Site – 192 “Likes”
It was reported that since March 2013, the Better Together Facebook site
had grown from 50 “likes” to 192 “likes.” Hopefully, we’ll be passing 200
within the next week or so.

Events and Activities –
Crabapple Community Association – July 4 Parade
Better Together was well represented at the Crabapple Community
Association’s 4th of July Parade. Our team, with the Better Together
banner, led the parade.
North Fulton Community Charities – Back to School Program
o Donations – Backpack and School Supply Items
o Volunteers on August 9
It was reported that the annual Back to School Wellness and Health Fair
would take place at the Elkins Road Middle School on August 9 from
9:00 am to 1:00 pm. Volunteers are needed for the event which served
some 498 families in 2013. Better Together members who are able to
help should let Teri Harrison know as soon as possible.
Connecting Residents with Businesses –
Rainbeau Orchids
Discussions have been held with Don Baker, owner of Rainbeau
Orchids, for an event in the September 2014 timeframe.
Other Business Possibilities
Preliminary discussions have been held with CJ Bognar, owner of CJ’s
Talk of the Town, for an event at her women’s clothing and gift shop
which is located on Highway 9 in the Target shopping center.
Welcoming New Residents Initiative – June Mailing (86)
It was reported that the mailings had been completed to those families who
purchased homes in Milton in May 2014. As with previous mailings, the
package included a welcoming letter from the Mayor and Milton
Newcomer’s Guide.
