Open Discussion
Milton High School PTSA – Omie reported on the annual membership
drive for the Milton High School PTSA. Omie encouraged Better Together
members and others to join the organization. Forms to join were
distributed at the meeting. Previously, this information was sent to all
Better Together members.
Communiteen – At the last Better Together meeting, we discussed the
need for new leadership for this group since the co-founders have
graduated and are now in college. In that regard, Maddy met with Ms.
Naterman at Milton High School in order to determine if there might be a
student interested in taking a lead role in the organization. At the present
time, no one has come forward to lead the group. Better Together is
committed to support the group at such time as new leadership comes
forward.
Better Together Christmas Event – Better Together’s one meeting in
December will be on Monday, December 8. As was the case last year, plans
are to have a social event where we will eat, have fun and celebrate the
holidays. Wayne and Nancilee agreed to coordinate.
Kimberly Brock – Georgia Author of the Year 2013
Milton resident Kimberly Brock, was our special guest. In addition to
telling the group about her family (husband and three kids), she spoke
about her work as an author. Her first book, The River Witch, was
published in 2012. As a result of this book, Kimberly received the Georgia
Author of the Year 2013.
Kimberly informed the group that she will be offering classes to the public
at a facility in Alpharetta (Church Street Cottage) beginning in early
October.

workshop to Milton-area residents at a date to be determined.
