HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes - BT - 01-11-2016 BETTER TOGETHER Action Agenda January 11, 2016 Updates from the Meeting are Posted in Red Meeting Attendees – Welcome to Members and Guests Wayne Boston Marisa Meisters Maureen Campbell Bob Meyers Debra Dinkins Carolyn Morrison Christine Johnston Hal Morrison Debra Jones Barbara Peck Trudy Kuester Diane Stewart Sharon Lockwood Sofia Watson Adrian Mattei Jan Williamson Gloria Mattei Better Together in 2015 and 2016 –  Review Goals for 2015 – o Increase Facebook “likes” from 250 to 400 Facebook likes were at 347 at end of 2015 o Increase average attendance to 15-17 Attendance averaged approximately 12 during 2015 o Business Connection Events – Four/Six Better Together had three events in 2015 o Hold Milton’s First Literary Festival Milton’s first literary festival was held on November 12, 2015 and 27 authors participated o Speakers at 80% of meetings Better Together had a speaker at every meeting in 2015 2 o Other – Adopt-a-Road; Village Volunteers; NFCC; Social Activities Better Together participated in each of these activities and others during 2015  Goals for 2016 – o Increase “likes” to 500 o Increase average attendance to 15 o Create First-Class Brochure for Better Together o Be more proactive in encouraging participation in meetings and events o Business Connection Events – Three/Four o Partner with other groups when possible o Continue to support ongoing BT activities Wayne reviewed the above goals that have been set for 201 Open Discussion Special Guest – Christine Johnston – Iron Horse Therapy Christine Johnston, owner and trainer at Iron Horse Therapy, showed the group a video and gave a presentation on her facility. Iron Horse provides therapeutic horseback riding and equine-assisted activities for children and adults with physical, cognitive and emotional disabilities. After her remarks she responded to numerous questions from the attendees. Trudy Kuester, a volunteer at Iron Horse, was also in attendance and contributed to the presentation. Next Meeting – February 8 – Bethwell Community Center
