Events and Activities –
Milton Mayor’s Jog For A Cause –
o February 27 – 6:30 Registration; 7:30 Race Start
o Volunteers needed
It was reported that the annual Milton Mayor’s Run would be taking
place on Saturday, February 27. It was announced that there is a need
for additional volunteers to help with registration and other race day
activities.
Milton Literary Group -
o February 21 – City Hall; Executive Conference Room – 4:00 PM
o Speaker – Hatcher Hurd, Executive Editor of Appen Media
All were invited to attend the monthly meeting of the Milton Literary
Group this Sunday, February 21, at City Hall in the Executive
Conference Room. Hatcher Hurd, who writes a weekly column in the

Milton Herald, will be the speaker. Hatcher has been working in the
newspaper business for over 25 years.
Milton Literary Festival – November 12, 2016
Wayne reported that the date has been set for the 2016 Milton Literary
Festival. It will be held at the same location as the 2015 event, the
Alpharetta Municipal Center.
Adopt-a-Road Quarterly Clean-up – Set date
The Better Together group will be scheduling its quarterly road clean-up
to take place in March. Barbara Peck, our coordinator for this effort, will
notify to the group of this date, once set.
The Village Volunteers – Current happenings
Diane Stewart provided a report on the activities of The Village
Volunteers. This is a newly-formed group that was started by Diane for
the purpose of providing structured programming for special needs
young adults who have completed high school. The group is currently
meeting each Monday at the Bethwell Community Center from 12 noon
to 2 pm.
Business Connection Events in 2016 –
Countryside Pet Estates – April 30
A business connection event has been planned for Countryside Pet
Estates to be held on April 30, 2016.
Two additional events in 2016
Wayne reported that plans are to complete at least two additional
business connection events in 2016.
Monthly Mailings to New Residents
The monthly mailings to new residents is a project begun by Better
Together some two years ago. These mailings constitute a letter from the
Mayor, a newcomer’s guide and other materials.

Special Guest – Matt Engleka, Owner – Countryside Pet Estates
Matt and Peg Engleka, owners and operators of Countryside Pet Estates,
summarized the services provided by their business. Afterwards, all of the

Better Together attendees were given a first-hand tour of the facility
located at 2540 Hopewell Road.
Next Meeting – March 14 – Bethwell Community Center
Attendees were reminded of the next Better Together meeting.
