Upcoming City Events –  Community Easter Egg Hunt – Friendship Park – April 15 The annual Community Easter Egg Hunt will again be held at Friendship Park. In addition to hunting eggs, the public will be enjoying games, music and other activities.  Earth Day – Milton City Hall - April 22 Reported that this year’s Earth Day will be moving from Friendship Park to the new plaza area at City Hall.  Grand Opening – Milton City Hall – April 29 o Tours – 1:00 – 6:00 pm o Ribbon Cutting – 6:45 pm o Dinner and Dancing - $25 Reported that the April 29 celebration will be a very festive affair with a sit-down dinner. The Mayor, City Council members and other dignitaries will be speaking. A large number of Milton citizens are expected to join the celebration.  Adopt-a-Road – May 6 – 9:00 am Better Together will be doing its quarterly pick-up on Thompson Road on May 6.  Milton Jubilee – Broadwell Pavilion - May 6 – 4:00 to 9:00 pm The annual Milton Jubilee, a celebration sponsored by the City of Milton and the Crabapple Community Association, will be held on May 6. A number of local vendors, including several serving food, will be available for the public to enjoy. Projects and Activities –  Milton Cultural Arts Committee – Update The newly-formed Milton Cultural Arts Committee is continuing to meet monthly. When complete, it will have seven members on the committee.  Milton Literary Festival – o Current Status o Festival Date – November 11 Planning has begun relating to hosting the Third Annual Milton Literary Festival. An Author Selection Committee has been formed and a number of local authors have already committed to participate. The festival will be held at the new Milton City Hall.  Small Business Symposium – Milton City Hall – June 15 Sarah LaDart is leading the effort to host the first Small Business Symposium for the City. Plans are to have three concurrent learning sessions. Afterwards, representatives from the various businesses will be available to meet and discuss their products and services with members of the community. Guest Speaker – Chip Gonzalez – Milton First Responders Foundation Brian Dolan, Board Chairman of the Milton First Responders Foundation, attended the meeting and provided an overview of the work of the group. The mission of the First Responders Foundation is to encourage and strengthen the partnership between the citizens of Milton and Milton’s public safety first responders.
