This group meets weekly at the Bethwell Community Center for the purpose of providing structured programming for those who have special needs and that have aged out of high school. City Events –  Milton City Hall – Party on the Plaza – April 29 Reported that the Party on the Plaza was a very successful event. In addition to tours of new City Hall, attendees enjoyed a special ribbon- cutting and sit-down dinner in the evening.  Milton Jubilee – Broadwell Pavilion - May 6 The annual Milton Jubilee, a celebration sponsored by the City of Milton and the Crabapple Community Association, was held on May 6. A number of local vendors, including several who served food, were available for the public to enjoy. Projects and Activities –  Adopt-a-Road – May 20 – 9:00 am Better Together will be doing its quarterly pick-up on Thompson Road on May 20. This was changed from the originally scheduled May 6 date.  Better Together Family BBQ – Broadwell Pavilion – July 10 As has become a Better Together custom, we’ll be having our annual cookout at the Broadwell Pavilion on Monday, July 10. Hamburgers and hot dogs will be provided and attendees will be asked to bring a dish of some sort. This event is for all families and friends.  Milton Cultural Arts Committee – Update The newly-formed Milton Cultural Arts Committee is continuing to meet monthly. Currently, the committee consists of six members; an additional member will be added.  Milton Literary Festival – o Current Status o Festival Date – November 11 Planning continues for the Third Annual Milton Literary Festival. The panels and workshops have been set and a number of authors have already committed to participate.  Small Business Symposium – Milton City Hall – June 15 o 12:00 – 1:30 pm – Lunch with Speaker o 2:00 – 4:00 pm – Three Breakout Sessions of 30 minutes each o 4:00 – 6:30 pm – Expo in Council Chambers Sarah LaDart, Economics Development Manager for the City, is leading the effort for the first Small Business Symposium hosted by the City of Milton. In addition to the structured aspects of the symposium, representatives from the various businesses will be available to meet and discuss their products and services with the attendees. Guest Speaker – City Councilman Bill Lusk – Historical Marker Project Bob Meyers and Bill Lusk presented a program on the Historical Marker Project for the City of Milton. Highlights included:  History of the Project.  Twenty eight markers will be erected at various sites within the City.  Eight will be in the Crabapple area.  An interactive map will be developed to indicate where the markers will be located.  Each marker will contain wording describing the historical significance. The description will be limited to 95 words. Next Meeting – June 12 – Community Place at Milton City Hall
