At their most recent meeting on March 12, they celebrated St. Patrick’s Day. On March 19, the group plans to go bowling. Projects and Activities – • Rise Against Hunger – o Cambridge High School o Friday, March 2 o 21,816 Meals Packed by 150 Volunteers! It was reported that several from the Better Together group joined with the efforts of some 150 other volunteers in order to pack meals. These meals will be sent to those in need around the world. • Adopt-a-Road – o Saturday, March 31 at 9:00 AM o Thompson Road – Redd Road to Country Ridge Road It was reported that Better Together’s next quarterly road pick-up would be on Saturday, March 31. Those who are interested in participating should plan to be there by 9:00 AM. Monthly Mailings to New Residents – 39 Mailings for February Those in attendance were reminded that our monthly mailings to new residents continues to be handled by Pat Miller. As a reminder, the mailing consists of a welcoming letter from the Mayor together with a relocation guide and other materials. These new residents are encouraged to call if they have questions or need more information. This Evening’s Program – • Joanne Newell, Founder and Owner • Center for Energy Healing • Change Your Mind, Change Your Life! An Exploration of Mindfulness Joanne’s remarks centered on the subject of Mindfulness. In addition to explaining the work by the Center for Energy Healing, Joanne led the group in two exercises focusing on ways in which to reduce stress in one’s life. One included the importance of medication and the other involved the importance of focusing and thinking in the present. Following her remarks, Joanne addressed questions from the group. Next Meeting – April 10 – • Milton City Hall - At Community Place • Leslie Graham, Owner and Operator – o 3:8 Juice & Eatery, 5250 Windward Parkway o Samples will be available! The group was reminded that the next meeting would be on April 10 and that the special guest speaker would be Leslie Graham, Owner and Operator of 3:8 Juice & Eatery.
