Adjournment City of Milton Bicycle and Pedestrian Committee April 17, 2008 Meeting Page 2 of 3 Meeting Notes ➢ Meeting called to order by Chair, Brian Maloney ➢ Introductions of those in attendance ➢ Approved March meeting minutes ➢ Trail map details ➢ Reviewed all segments o Check on Forsyth County tie segment #179 o Use existing sidewalk as is through Crooked Creek segment #158 o Add concrete urban segment on North side of Bethany from SR g to Cogburn o Extend segment #185 along Redd Rd from Hopewell to Freemanville o Check paving on Cowart gravel road segment # 153 a Add rural gravel segment on West side of Freemanville from Phillips Circle to Providence ➢ Trail cross sections a Would like fence between trail and roadway on segments 159 and 170 o This segment is modified rural and clear zone will not allow o Revised modified rural section to have 2' additional lane width on trail side and non -mountable curb and gutter on trail side, non trail side to be typical rural section o Fence to be adjacent to trail either within the Right of Way/Easement between trail and roadway or outside Right of Way/Easement on private property o Committee preference for fence to be between trail and roadway o Committee would like a decorative fence feature at intersections o Staff to review fence break distances and locations a Fence to be black 4 board equestrian style fence o The committee does not want the trail to meander unless to avoid trees or other obstructions ➢ All committee members approved map and cross sections draft 04/17J08 ➢ Take plans and draft resolution to City Council work session on May 12 City of Milton Bicycle and Pedestrian Committee April 17, 2008 Meeting Page 3 of 3 ➢ Material details and maintenance o Will need to go to Design Review Board for approval ➢ Development updates o No bridges to be required by developments a Developments dedicate Right of Way for trail and pay into sidewalk fund o Current regulations call for trail to be required at all development permits o Give Director of Community Development or Public Works flexibility to determine if needed for single family lots Funding a Allan Tetley is taking the lead on this phase o Staff to set up conference call to discuss o Staff to provide contact for Grant's coordinator ➢ Next Actions o Trail plan approval and adoption by City o Gravel Road Speed limits o Parks and Recreation Authority Could provide maintenance of trails o Funding Next Committee Meeting Date ➢ Next meeting Thursday June ig, 2008, at 6:oo pm Adjournment ➢ There was no further business ➢ The Bike-Ped meeting adjourned at 8:30 p.m. .. b6ab Maloney, Chair
