Approval of past meeting minutes ■ October 27, 2009 meeting minutes were approved and signed 2. Arrange time for some committee members to be sworn in ■ Committee asked to meet before council meeting to be sworn in 3. Accessing sidewalk priorities • The latest resolution assigning responsibilities for the bike ped committee is with the primary purpose of assessing sidewalk priorities and the advocation of bicycle and pedestrian facilities where appropriate in new development scenarios 4. Recommendations from Comprehensive Transportation Plan 5. Update on Safe Routes to School a. SRTS Grant • SRTS grant was awarded to Milton for amount requested (approx $500,000) • Waiting to determine project specifics as preliminary design begins more detailed construction costs are identified • Staff to provide prioritized list of projects that were part of application b. Other funding opportunities • Requested ARRA funds for trail under Transportation - did not receive any ARRA funding • Bikes Belong received some stimulus funding - look into projects through this group c. Trail funds in Budget • Funding for trail under Capital Projects Fund for $200,000 • This was intended to be used for local match on grants City of Milton 13000 Deerfield Parkway SLDG 100 Suite 107C Milton, Georgia 30004 IQLI� • Present proposal of use of these funds for full design and construction of Phase 1 by using trail builders since no local matches are required on the SRTS grant o Committee requested staff to begin RFP process prior to determination of when cash flow of funding will be available 6. Phase 1 trail Look back at Mary's list of contractors ■ Check on "whole package deal," can on contractor do design and build 90 days for survey • Look at doing a RFP, RFI with results by June 1st ■ Split Phase 1 on Freemanville into phases a. School to Landrum b. Bridge c. Landrum to Providence d. Providence to Phillips 7. "Promote the trail" Ideas • Alise Cua would like to help start a "Share the Road" awareness campaign • Mary and Brian began coordinating with Alise on starting this as a citizen campaign • Good response on signs, can we expand to other gravel roads? S. Equestrian loop designation discussion • ConuYuttee requested to hold off on any equestrian loop designations 9. Additional items • No additional items 10. Public Comment • No public comment 11.
