MEMBERS Julie Shannon-present Susan Day-present Susan Kimball-present Brian Maloney-present Tony Rich-present Chrissy Reeves-present Nan Buckner-present OTHERS PRESENT Courtney Spriggs, Community Outreach Manager Steve Krokoff, City Manager Greg Botelho, Communications Director Sara Leaders, Acting Public Works Director Aidan McHugh and Chloe Richardson, Milton interns Judy Burds, community member APPROVAL OF MEETING AGENDA Approved APPROVAL OF April 2021 MINUTES Approved PUBLIC COMMENT Judy Burds brought up concerns about fireworks. Discussion ensued regarding state versus local regulations, noise ordinances, and fireworks stands. John's Creek makes property owners/tenants liable for damage caused by fireworks. NEW BUSINESS UNFINISHED BUSINESS Fireworks: Steve Krokoff provided an update on the the city's approach to citations and enforcement regarding fireworks and other noise ordinance violation issues. A violation occurs when a noise is loud and unreasonable with no need to measure decibels for fireworks. He also brought up the idea of mapping out farm zones as potential noise free zones. Sara Leaders discussed implementation of improvements in Birmingham Park and future servicing of trails going forward. She also led a discussion of priorities for improvements. High priority areas included trailer parking, having water available and repairing some of the washed out areas near the entrance. Brian Maloney discussed Milton Equestrian Committee representation at Crabapple Fest. The trail mapping exercise was postponed for reasons of time.
