On March 20, 2020, the Mayor and City Council approved an Emergency Ordinance
which declared and proclaimed a state of local emergency and, per Section 7 of said
Ordinance, provided that such declaration shall constitute the finding and declaration
of an emergency as contemplated by the Open Meetings Act, O.C.G.A. 50-14-1(g),
such that a teleconference meeting may be held. Based upon that Ordinance finding,
pertinent State law, and upon the Governor’s declaration of a statewide emergency,
this meeting of the City Council will be conducted virtually using Zoom Meetings. This
platform will allow for the public and media to observe the online, streaming meeting in
real time via a computer or telephone.
