LLOS-SSL- ' COUNTY OF FULTON A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF MILTON SUPPORTING AN APPLICATION TO THE ATLANTA REGIONAL COMMISSION FOR FUNDING OF WINDWARD/HIGHWAY 9 LCI PLAN UPDATE WHEREAS, O.C.G.A. § 36-35-3 provides that the governing authority of a municipality may adopt clearly reasonable ordinances, resolutions, and regulations; and WHEREAS, Atlanta Regional Commission (ARC) is conducting a solicitation for Livable Centers Initiative (LCI) funding proposals; and WHEREAS, ARC provides local assistance programs to implement facets of the LCI within the designated study area, including the LCI Program and Community Development Assistance Program (CDAP); and WHEREAS, the Milton Mayor and City Council adopted the Windward/Highway 9 LCI Plan in 2012; and WHEREAS, an update to the 2012 plan is necessary due to changing economic market, consumer demands, and new mobility opportunities that have occurred over the last ten (10) years and to consider challenges and opportunities that impact development patterns and mobility investments; and ' WHEREAS, the City Council believes it is appropriate and in the best interest of the City of Milton to support the said application to the ARC. NOW THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED by the Mayor and City Council of the City as follows: 1. The Mayor and City Council hereby approve of and support the Windward/Highway 9 LCI Plan Update grant application, and, if awarded, the Mayor is hereby authorized to execute any and all award package materials as required under the LCI Program. 2. The Mayor and City Council further hereby acknowledge and agree to provide the City's contribution toward a cash match requirement of twenty percent (20%) of the total study amount which match shall be divided between the City, the City of Alpharetta, and the North Fulton Community Improvement District. The City's cash match contribution is anticipated to be at or less than $15,000.00. RESOLVED this 7th day of March 2022. lim (SEAL)
