DEMOLITION OF STRUCTURES A. 13040 Arnold Mill Road Applicant:  Brumbelow-Reese and Associates, Inc. Request(s):  • Demolition of existing house and wood sheds.  Motion to approve: Reid Casey 2nd: Casey Robinson Vote: 5-0 (Approved) B. 14825 Taylor Road Applicant:  Brumbelow-Reese and Associates, Inc. Request(s):  • Demolition of existing house. Motion to approve: Ken Warlick 2nd: Casey Robinson Vote: 5-0 (Approved) 6. COURTESY REVIEWS A. U23-01/VC23-01, 14725 Wood Road – This item was deferred from last month’s meeting to allow updated concurrent variance request. Applicant:  Carolyn Bell/Fortitude Farm, LLC Request(s):  • Use Permit for “Barns or riding areas” (Sec.64-1840) to construct a 210’ x 140’ covered riding arena and a five-part Concurrent Variance:  1) To allow parking within 75’ of the east property line (Sec.64-1840 (b)(1));  2) To reduce the 50’ City undisturbed stream buffer and 25’ impervious setback (Sec.20-426(1) and (2));  3) To allow a riding ring/area that is covered to be located less than 100’ from property line (Sec.64-415(a)(8));  4) To allow an existing stable and an addition to the stable to be located closer than 100’ to any property line (Sec.64-415(a)(2)); 5) To allow an existing accessory building to be closer than 25’ to a side property line and closer than 50’ to a rear property line (Sec.64-416(c)(1) and (d)). Comments: DRB recommends approval of this Use permit based on the following discussed information: Riding ring exists at this location. Wood Road is known for equestrian estates This use permit aligns with the vision and mission of Milton DRB recommends that once the Use Permit is approved by the Council it should come back for architectural review. B. V23-03, 13990 Freemanville Road Applicant:    Request(s):  • To allow an existing basketball court to encroach the 25-foot side setback requirement by 14.4 feet. (Sec. 64-416 (c)(1)). • To allow an existing accessory structure to encroach the 25-foot side setback requirement by 23.5 feet. (Sec. 64-416(c)(1)). Comments: DRB recommends approval of the requested variances for existing structures. C. V23-04, 16055 Hopewell Road Applicant:   Request(s):  • To allow an existing single-family home to encroach the 25-foot side setback requirement on the north side of property by 0.6 feet, and the 25-foot side setback requirement on the south side of property by 1.4 feet. (Sec. 64-416(c)(1)). • To allow an existing guesthouse to encroach the 25-foot side setback by 4.7 feet. (Sec. 64-1598 (b)(4)). Comments: DRB recommends approval of the requested variances for existing structures. 7. FINAL REVIEWS A.
