6. COURTESY REVIEWS
A. V23-12, 13720 Brittle Road
Applicant: Ty Matthews
Request(s):
• To allow a proposed barn to encroach into the 100-foot building setback for housing animals by 35.5 feet toward the southern side property line, and 33 feet toward the rear property
line. (Sec. 64-415, (a)(4)(a)).
Comments: DRB supports the proposed barn housing animals conditionally. DRB recommends the following actions for the applicant:
Reduce the size and scope of the proposed 48’ x 36’ barn housing animals.
Also discussed by the DRB was the option of reducing the proposed 48’ x 36’ barn housing animals size, while also having a subordinate accessory structure for feed and storage that would
not need a barn housing animals distance variance.
Provide additional landscaping on the southern side property line where there is the least amount of trees and the location of the largest barn housing animals distance variance request
(35.5’).
Additionally, if the Board of Zoning Appeals approved the Variance, DRB would like to review the architectural design of the barn at a future DRB Meeting.
7. FINAL REVIEWS
There is no final building/site application for DRB’s review.
8. NEW BUSINESS
Staff proposed to reschedule DRB Meeting that was originally scheduled for Tuesday, November 7, 2023, to Wednesday, November 8, 2023, due to scheduling conflict with the upcoming municipal
election that will be held at the City Hall Council Chamber. Additionally, the Board requested staff to confirm if there will be a runoff election on December 5, 2023. Staff will check
and report back to the Board at the next month’s meeting.
Motion to Approve the new schedule of the DRB Meeting from Tuesday, November 7, 2023, to Wednesday, November 8, 2023: Reid Casey
2nd: Mary Cronk
Vote: 5-0 (Approved)
