The front portion of the neighborhood ( Providence Plantation) requested speed bumps. but our attorney said that the separate HOA for the back lots would also need to be in agreement with installation of traffic calming. Due to the complexities of multiple HOAs and some lots not part of either. the petition process was identified as the best approach to pursue traffic calming. The petition process requires 67 of affected owners sign in support. We did not hear back from the Providence Plantation HOA on a possible petition. We reside in Providence Plantation and chose this neighborhood because it was peaceful. The idea that someone could open up a winery to serve alcohol is the furthest of concerns when we moved here . But as this is now a reality, we would like to make sure that if it does get approved, it would set a precedent for more neighbors in our community to do the same . The utmost concern is safety with people drinking and driving in a residential neighborhood . This is not a country club lifestyle but rather a small subdivision of families and we would like to keep it that way. The idea that the proposal suggests a stop serving time of 6pm is ridiculous. Who is tasting wine mid day? And if they are then I would not want cars entering and exiting during school bus time. The intent of the initial proposal was for a hobby for friends and family not tastings from the public. What is to stop this from becoming an AirBNB or venue for weddings? There are so many variables to this request and at the end of the day, this is a subdivision with one way in and one way out. It is not an open area of land outside of a residential neighborhood . Please consider the impact that this could have on a broader scale. Milton is a quiet community not a winery community. City of Milton, I'm writing because I'm opposed to the Liquor License at 13555 Blakmaral Lane, Milton GA 30004 PH-23-AB-12. My husband and I have lived in the Gladwyne community for 8 years now. The property 13555 Bakmaral Lane can be seen from some of the Gladwyne properties in the back of our community . As the president of the Gladwyne Homeowners Association, I'm stunned that a residential property in a residential neighborhood would be able to be used as a commercial business. It's strictly against the covenants and for good reason. People move into a residential neighborhood with a HOA and expect a certain standard that properties and the community will be maintained and in accordance to the bylaws. This liquor license must not be approved. This property must not be allowed to be turned into a commercial business sitting in the back of a quiet neighborhood . It sets a terrible precedence to set in the City of Milton. We want to keep a residential neighborhood as such and this must not be allowed to move forward.
