APPROVAL / AMENDMENT OF AGENDA Motion by David Jackson Second: Danielle Gagne Vote: 6-0 (Approved) 4. APPROVAL OF MEETING MINUTES A. May 7, 2024 - Action Report Motion to Approve the May 7, 2024 Action Report as presented: Danielle Gagne Second: Samia Coker Vote: 6-0 (Approved) 5. DEMOLITION OF STRUCTURES A. 12595 Broadwell Road (Deferred from the May 7th, 2024 DRB Meeting) Applicant: Jeffrey Masisak Request(s): • To demolish existing house. Motion to Approve the demolition plan as presented with the following comments: 1. If the property is connected to the Mayfield District, ensure that the character of the new building has a similar look and feel to the surrounding buildings in the area. 2. This is a good opportunity to do something with a “wow” factor, and not just an office building. Incorporate possible outdoor dining, candy shop, or soda shop. The proposed road entrance and its alignment with Marstrow Drive will provide a better road connection and mobility. 4. COURTESY REVIEWS A. V24-08, 15165 Birmingham Highway Applicant: Gayle Harris Request(s): • Part 1- Sec. 3.1.4 (A) & (B) - To reduce the 60-foot minimum front yard to 33.1 feet and reduce the 25-foot minimum side yard to 5.1 feet adjacent to the south property line for an existing one-story frame accessory structure. • Part 2 - Sec. 3.1.4 (B) - To reduce the 25-foot minimum side yard to 21.6 feet adjacent to the northeast property line for an existing shed accessory structure. • Part 3 - Sec. 2.3.2 (E) - To allow an existing 8 feet high opaque fence along the exterior street and southern property line to exceed the 5 feet maximum height requirement. • Part 4 - Sec. 2.3.2 (E)(1)(b) - To allow an existing 8 feet high opaque fence along the exterior street and southern property line, to be an opaque fence, and not the required equestrian fence Motion to recommend approval of the variance application and to approve all four parts of the request with the following recommendations: DESIGN REVIEW BOARD - Tuesday, June 4, 2024 PAGE | 3 2006 Heritage Walk, Milton, GA 30004 ǀ 678.242.2500 ǀ www.miltonga.gov 1. Recommends approval of the variance for pool house, accessory structure, and to leave the fence “as is” with the understanding that the neighbor (Dr. Bayliss) will plant vegetation to screen it. 2. Per board member David Jackson, have the applicant request Dr. Bayliss’ presence at the next BZA meeting to show support and confirm his agreement to plant the vegetation screening. V24-09, 1105 Birmingham Road Applicant: Luca Gianturco Request(s): • Part 1- Sec 8.8.6 (2) To reduce th existing barn housing animals distance requirement from 100 feet to 32.09 feet adjacent to the east property line for an existing barn. • Part 2- Sec. 3.1.4 (Accessory Structure Setbacks) To allow an existing accessory structure shed to remain in front of the proposed Single-Family home adjacent to the east property line. V24-11, 835 Foxhollow Run Applicant: Craig & Christi Melrose Request(s): • Sec. 3.1.4 (B) & (D) To reduce the 25 foot minimum side yard to 23 feet adjacent to the east property line and redue the 50 foot minimum rear to 41.8 feet adjacent to the south property line for an existing accessory structure.
