Montessori School, 3499 & 3501 Bethany Bend Road (Building Review) Applicant: Biju Eappen Request(s):  • To review the proposed building plan for the Montessori School. Motion to approve the following recommendations stated by Chairman Warlick on behalf of the Board: David Jackson DRB Recommendations: 1. Follow staff recommendations* as presented. 2. Improve landscaping in the North (back) elevation. Show more plantings to conceal the lack of meeting architectural guidelines. 3. Explore lowering the roof pitch as it is too steep and seems out of proportion to the rest of the building. 4. Explore the possibility of either elevating the windows on the second floor closer to the roof/soffit line to look proportional OR leaving the window placement as is but adding transoms on top of each window on all elevations. 5. Include gutter and exterior building light details on the renderings. 6. Provide color samples, material samples, and other architectural details to provide better visualization and help DRB make better decisions. Second: Celeste Jackson Vote: 7-0 (Approved) 7. FINAL REVIEWS A. Milton’s Cuisine & Cocktail, 800 Mayfield Road (Landscape Review) Applicant: Chris Hadermann/Southern Proper Hospitality Request(s):  • To review the landscaping plan for a restaurant that includes fencing and outdoor seating. NEW BUSINESS A. Deerfield Implementation Plan- Project Introduction and Architectural Feedback Exercise. The Deerfield Implementation Plan project team presented the process, guiding principles, next steps, and architectural styles. The consultant presented various images on single-story retail, townhomes, mixed-use buildings, and boutique hotels, and asked the Board’s feedback for each typology. DRB members discussed and provided their feedback on their favorite and least favorite architectural styles and added important comments on why they like or dislike them. The Board will send out additional comments on the images to the staff liaison to include when deciding what images to present at the upcoming open house event. The project consultant invited DRB members to the Open House event on September 17 at Stone Creek Church. 9. OLD BUSINESS A. None 10.
