Meet ing Min utes
January 13, 2016
Committee Members In Attendan ce: Hope Winograd, Tass Welch, Dudley Arnold, Nancilee Wolfe,
and Paul Schiell

Guests in Attendance: james Keating, jan Williamson, Rick Mohrig
Tass Welch called the meeting to order and Paul Schiell seconded the motion. The motion passed
unan imously. (5-0)
Committee members reviewed and approved the meeting minutes from November 4, 2 0 15. A small
correction was made to include Ken Woods in the attendance. Nancilee Wolfe made the motion to
appr ove the minutes and Hope Winograd seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously.
(5 -0)
New Business:
• Tass announced to the group that Ken Woods is resigning as a member of MDAC.
• The committee plans to elect a new member in january.
Old Business:
• jan Williamson took the floor to discuss a new program she and Diane Stewart have
started .
• Village Volunteers is a group of people who use wheelchairs or have develo pmental
disabilities that meets once a week at Beth well Community Center.
• The group has lunch and then spends some time socializing.
• They also spend time discussing Martin Luther King Day and other special holidays that
are of great significance to this country.
• The group hopes to serve as a model for other groups to emulate.
• The group would love to recruit a couple retired special education teachers to h e l p with
certain activities.
• Sudie mentioned to the committee that texting to 911 can be used in Milton and
Alpharetta (established in 2014).
• The system was recently used successfully for the first time in Alpharetta.
• People cannot send photos by text to the 911 system.
• Tass discussed the Facebook post situation for MDAC. The committee has posted on the
City of Milton page a couple of times so far .
• Making a Facebook post about the 911 text system will likely be the committee's next
post.
• Letting the community know about this system would be a great idea.

• The Health Application on many smart phones was also mentioned for a future
Facebook post.
• MDAC then picked back up on the Accessibility Rating Map (www.axsmap.com) topic.
• Sudie printed out a list of businesses in the city that MDAC members can start exploring
and attempting to rate.
• MDAC only wants to rate businesses from the standpoint of being helpful and a positive
influence.
• The committee plans to meet soon and rate a business together using Axsmap system .
Paul Schiel! moved to adjourn the meeting and Nancilee Wolfe seconded the motion. The vote was
unanimous to adjourn. The next meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, February 10, 2016.
