WHEREAS, The City of Milton, Georgia is an incorporated City in Fulton County, Georgia,
and is a City charged with delivering municipal services, and
WHEREAS, The Mayor and City Council have taken an aggressive stance on crime prevention<
and public safety by supporting Milton's Department of Public Safety and by
supporting the concept of creating a Police Canine Team; and
WHEREAS, The use of canines in police work dates back to the 10 Century in St. Malo,
France where canines were used to guard dock installations, and today over 7,000
canine teams exist around the United States; and
WHEREAS, Some of the many advantages of creating a canine team include public relations,
narcotic searches, police officer safety and dedication to duty; and
If
WHEREAS, The City of Milton located DaSilva, a fully certified and amazingly credentialed a
police canine in Louisiana, and appointed Officer Brian Kiel as the handler for
this inaugural canine team; and
i WHEREAS, This Police Canine Team was made possible because of the benevolent
contribution of Mr. Eddie Moore, who purchased DaSilva; and
WHEREAS, Because of Mr. Moore's contribution, the safety of the City of Milton, its citizens,
its visitors and its police officers is greatly enhanced.

NOW, THEREFORE, We, the Mayor and City Council of the City of Milton, hereby
recognize Mr. Eddie More and offer our heartfelt gratitude for this amazing contribution to the
City and to its citizens.
