A thanks to the volunteers who made Memorial Day 2010 a success
WHEREAS, The city of Milton held its third Memorial Day Ceremony May 31, an undertaking that
took months of planning and dozens of volunteers and staff members to pull together
successfully, and;
WHEREAS, Staff from every department in City Hall pitched in to ensure all aspects of the ceremony
went smoothly, and;
WHEREAS, Scores of citizens and residents from Milton and surrounding cities volunteered their time
and made certain the event was well attended, and;
WHEREAS, Military veterans and current active military personnel took part in the service to
memorialize the sacrifices of many, and;
WHEREAS, Local businesses donated food, Leverages and place settings for a special guest breakfast
before the event, and;
WHEREAS, As he has done for the previous two years, Councilman Bill Lusk again helmed the effort,
including providing a base of veteran volunteers and, at his own expense, creating and
placing the beloved markers on Deerfield Parkway, and;
WHEREAS, This multi -tiered effort ensures that Memorial Day in the City of Milton will become a
cherished and storied tradition with roots in the early years of the city.
NOW, THEREFORE, we, the Mayor and City Council of the City of Milton, hereby thank our peers, staff
veterans and volunteers for the most successful Memorial Day Ceremony yet held.
