Adoption/Amendment of Agenda Motion to amend agenda: Gary Willis 2nd: Christopher Bloor Vote: 6-0, Motion passed Motion to approve amended agenda: Jim Hilley 2nd: Christopher Bloor Vote: 4-0, Motion passed. 4. Approval of April meeting minutes Motion to approve minutes: Todd Chernik 2nd: Jim Hilley Vote: 4-0, 2 abstained, Motion passed. 5. Consideration of Primary Variances a. V15-015, 14005 Hagood Road, Jack Barron Requests(s):  To allow an addition to a house to encroach into the 75 foot impervious setback of a stream (Section 20-426, ii) Motion to approve: Christopher Bloor --Per the site plan by Davis Engineering and Surveying, dated 2/9/15 2nd: Walter Rekuc Vote: 6-0, Motion approved. b. V15-017, 13805 Bethany Road, Kim O’Brien Requests(s):  To allow a guest house to encroach into the 50 foot rear yard setback (Section 64-416, 2d) Motion to defer: Jim Hilley 2nd: Sumeet Shaw Vote: 6-0, Motion approved. c. V15-018, 12900 Birmingham Highway, Hannah Flowers Requests(s):  To allow a new house to encroach into the 75 foot impervious setback of a stream (Section 20- 426, ii) Motion to approve with conditions: Walter Rekuc Conditions:  Maintain the rural viewshed  Fencing shall be 4 board, horse style fence, painted black or dark brown.  Garage shall be side entry.  Driveway apron and turnaround can be concrete; the remainder could be porous concrete or pavers, or some other impervious material  Per site plan by Sanctum Design Group, dated April 6, 2015, revised May 19, 2015. 2nd: Jim Hilley Vote: 6-0, Motion approved. d. V15-019, 785 Owens Lake Road, Jane Davis Requests(s):  To allow an accessory structure to encroach into 50 foot rear setback (Section 64-416, 2d) Motion to approve with conditions: Todd Chernik Condition(s): Per the submitted concept landscape plan 2nd: Jim Hilley Vote: 6-0, Motion approved. e. V15-020, 765 Tramore Place, Deno Hairston Requests(s):  To allow a sport court to encroach into the 50 foot stream buffer (Section 20-426,i)  To allow a sport court to encroach in to 75 foot impervious setback (Section 20-426,ii)  To allow a sport court to encroach into the 50 rear setback (Section 64-1602,b,1) Motion to approve with conditions: Walter Rekuc Condition(s): o Per the GA Premier Land Surveyors plan dated 12/22/14, revised 3/5/15 o Retaining wall shall be faced in brick or stone o Tree recompense shall be provided per the City Architect o Court lighting shall be allowed, providing that the fixtures are shoebox design , per the Night Sky Ordinance, to light the sport court, and set to go out at 10:00pm 2nd: Jim Hilley Vote: 6-0, Motion approved. 6. Consideration of Appeals a. V15-016, 1720 Highgrove Club Drive, Joseph Couch i. Variance V14-003, was approved March 18, 2014, allowing a detached garage to encroach into the side setback. ii. Applicant seeks to appeal the Director’s interpretation of condition 1.-- Material, roof pitch, colors, etc. shall match the existing house. Motion to clarify the original motion: Todd Chernik  ‘Match’ per the Webster’s diction to mean a pair suitably associated;  To allow a stone water table and hardy plank siding  Approval per the architectural drawing by Adrian Scott Cutchshaw, dated 10/24/14  To allow the following: o On rear elevation—where noted as brick, shall be stone o On front elevation—where noted as brick, shall be siding o On left elevation—where noted as brick, shall be stone o On right elevation—where noted as brick, shall be stone 2nd: Walter Rekuc Vote: 6-0, Motion passed. 7.
