Requests(s):
To allow a 7 foot encroachment into the rear yard setback
(Section 64-669,h,3)
Comments:
You have enough room on both sides to redesign the two
end units, and make both the same.
By the time that you put cars in front of the building, 7 feet will
not be that much. The 7 feet doesn’t really affect anybody,
does it?
Not in favor. I think they need to redesign to make it work.
But do we end up accepting a building that is not consistent
with the other building?
You know what you bought. Should have done your due
diligence. Do your homework with what you bought.
You could just not do the end unit.
Basically, there are two options—
o Redesign the unit to make it shorter and fatter. Add
the seven feet that you lose in length to the width.
o Allow the 7 foot encroachment to keep the continuity
of the building. Add additional, more mature
landscape to compensate for the encroachment.
Instead of bringing this one unit forward you can make it
smaller. Or, rescale all of these units to make them smaller.
Gives the community the same look that you came in with.
One building setback would look very strange to me.
We do not support the allowing of allowing a variance just to
get a variance. We do support the citizens wanting to keep
the design in continuity with the community.
Whatever happens, the lot needs to be landscaped
appropriately.
