COURTESY REVIEWS HOPEWELL ROAD PUMP STATION Site/building Suggestions: Change roof color from bright green to a more muted color. Change scale of recessed door areas; these seem too large for the building. Move gate in closer to building to minimize amount of fencing needed. Find alternate for glass block windows; not allowed in overlay. Beef up buffer planting along back of compound; stagger trees. DINSMORE FARM Rezoning Suggestions: Pull townhomes closer together to eliminate encroachment of decks into buffer. Possibly eliminate/reduce individual driveways. Possibly make access to townhomes one way. Provide interparcel connectivity to west along Mayfield Road. Use pervious materials for the three extra spaces. Exterior sidewalks should meander along frontage, following terrain. Provide some kind of decorative feature at corner to draw people into the site. Move corner building closer to the street—should be no more than 20 feet from corner. WALGREENS Site/building Determination of front—to be side where drive through is located. Applicant plans to screen with a gentle slope and plantings. Suggestions: Work with architect to create a building that fits character of area. Study old drugstores to see characteristics Building should be two story; extend building over drive through so that it does not look like an ‘add on’. Possibly reduce number of parking spaces. Provide some kind of decorative feature/gateway at corner. CRABAPPLE CROSSING Dumpster placement Deferred—applicant was not present. DEERFIELD PLACE SHOPPING CENTER Outbuildings Re-examine entrances. Possibly remove parking spaces in order to increase green space. Try to determine impact of future Highway 9 widening on landscaping along road frontages. Allow sidewalk to meander, possibly move back from Highway 9. Provide more connections into development. The 4,000 sq foot building at corner does not fit in with other buildings on site; change roof.
