6) Courtesy reviews
a) V12-014, 14150 Seabiscuit, Triple Crown
Request(s):
To allow a fireplace in the side yard
Suggests that applicant gets letter of approval from adjacent
homeowners.
b) V12-015, 15365 Tullgean Drive, Tullamore
Request(s):
To allow a barn 30 feet from a side property line
Nice looking barn.
c) Discussion—Possible changes to fence requirement in Northwest Overlay
a. Pushback seems reasonable.
b. Hard to regulate good taste. In terms of aesthetically pleasing fences,
we should have more of a conversation about how the fence will
weather and be maintained. Don’t think the DRB can come up with a
list of appropriate fences.
c. Milton made a choice for a certain look, why can’t they just apply for
a variance?
d. Important to be able to rule as body that a fence is appropriate.
e. Fences should match the genre of the house.
f. Subdivision HOA’s should be able to decide on their own. There
should be options along main roads.
g. Questions to ask: Does it fit the period, style, longevity….
